As the business web matures, it is being driven less by images, and more by actual content. Design, animation, and layout are still critical, but they don’t carry the whole load the way they did when the medium was young. I guess we’re jaded, or simply in a hurry to get to the message.
However, even on some of today’s most attractive, highly-functional websites copywriting is sometimes overlooked. Most website providers will attribute this to a lack of resources, or to a client who insists on repurposing the text from an old brochure…or both. If web service providers had flexible, reliable writing talent to round out their offerings, they’d use it. And that’s where I come in.
These days, your web presence IS your corporate image. So make sure that it not only looks great, but also says something relevant to your potential customer. And make sure it is sufficiently optimized to help search engines drive business your way…which is what this whole exercise is supposed to be about!
